What exactly is lifestyle photographer?
A lifestyle photographer is a story teller. I want to tell your story! My goal during your session is to capture the real life moments. During your session I'll direct you, but I don't typically pose you. I want you, and your family, to feel as comfortable as possible. I also want you to have fun!
What's required to book?
Once you decide that you'd like to book, click the "book here" link. You'll be directed to my booking site where you can choose a date you're interested in. That form will come directly to me and once I receive it, I'll reach out to you via email to discuss. To hold your session date a signed contract and retainer fee is required. The retainer required is dependent upon the type of session booked.
How long does it take to receive my images after our session?
The answer to this really depends on the time of year! Your contract states that all images will be provided no later than 30 days after your shoot date. Although I strive to provide them within a two week timeframe, sometimes it can take a little longer.
What do we wear?
I love when I get asked this question. Neutral and earth tones photograph best. Mixing subtle patterns, with different muted tones also works well. Try to stay away from a completely matched crew (i.e: jeans and white shirts). Once you've booked your session, I'll send over a style guide for you to reference. If you ever have a question or want feedback on what you've chosen, I'm here!
What should we expect at an in home newborn session?
Lifestyle newborn sessions are not posed studio newborn sessions. During in home newborn sessions, we utilize your curated spaces to capture memories.
Before your session, we'll discuss what areas of your home you'd like to use when I arrive. I get asked often if the house needs to be spotless for perfect photos, my answer is always "absolutely not." As a mother of four, I get it. I understand, and we move around the space ensuring we use only the best spots. Do you have a favorite sign you'd love to have in the photos? Or a family heirloom you'd love photographed with baby? Let me know! I'll make it happen. I try my very best to capture all members of the babies family, like their new furry siblings. I also make it a point to not forget about all of their tiny little features. We take breaks when needed, for feeding or changing. In home sessions are never rushed, and they relaxed- in hopes of allowing you to feel as comfortable as you can after what may feel like a chaotic few weeks.
Do you photograph weddings?
I get this question a lot, the short answer is I do not. However, I do shoot elopements, and I also second shoot for the very talented photographer. If you're looking for someone special to shoot your wedding, reach out, and I'll send you my recommendation!
